I wanted to use my Quest as a giant display for my Mac, with the option to simply plug in a cable. That became Mac Portal.

It brings my Mac’s desktop into Quest as a screen I can move and resize. The video travels over a direct USB connection, so the stream doesn’t depend on Wi-Fi.

A familiar workspace

Keep using your Mac apps, keyboard, and mouse, with sound playing through your Mac as usual. The display sits alongside other Quest apps, so you can have a browser or another window open beside it.

Choose a portrait, compact, wide, or ultrawide format to suit the work in front of you.

Connected by cable

A companion app in the Mac menu bar handles sharing. Pair the two devices once, then choose whether to start sharing yourself or automatically when your Quest connects. The connection stays local and remembers the paired devices.
